Beef Cattle

We have a small beef cattle herd. The girls are mostly beef dairy crosses and we AI rather than own a bull. Basically we raise calves for market. Many of the girls started out as bucket calves, so they all have names, and they all love grain!

We have been using a beef breed called Bazadaise to AI our girls to. This is an old French breed that we chose for their easy calving and double muscling. The calves are real little racing cars, all jacked up in the back end!

It is a very mottly cow crew, but dairy cross cows do make wonderful mothers and grow nice calves!

I will try to put some pics and details of the massive bull that we have used for AI!
